Ingredients
(for 5 persons)
Rawa – 2 cups
Cabbage (½” cubes) – ½ cup
Beans (½” cubes) – ¾ cup
Carrot (½” cubes) – ½ cup
Green Peas (thawed to room temp) – ½ kg
Oil – ½ cup
Mustard seeds –1½ tsp
Urad Dal – 3 TBS
Chana Dal – 3 TBS
Red chili (Dry) – 2 Nos (big)
Green Chili (washed & chopped) – 2 TBS
Curry leaves (washed) – 1/3 cup
Coriander leaves (washed & chopped) – 1 cup
Lime juice – 1 cup
Salt – 5 tsp
Ghee (Optional) – 3 TBS
Yield – 2½ liter
Process
- Wash and cut all vegetables as per the instructions in the ingredients list. Dry Roast the Rawa and keep it separately.
- Boil the water.
- Heat oil in a thick bottom pot. Add mustard seeds, chana dal and urad dal one after other. Roast for a while.
- Add curry leaves, green chili and roast together. Then add the vegetables and cook for a while.
- Add hot water and salt. Cover the vessel and boil. Cook till the vegetables are softened.
- Now Add Rawa slowly while stirring constantly. Slow down the flame and cook covered for 15 to 20 minutes over low flame.
- Switch off the flame. Uncover after 2 minutes.
- Add lemon juice, ghee and coriander leaves and stir thoroughly.
